How Grades Work in This Class
The assignments, quizzes, discussions and final project you submit will all be graded. For each assignment, there is an explanation about how the questions will be graded. For quizzes, the weekly email announcement and the description you will see before you start the quiz provide you with the grading information. Finally, there is a grading rubric in Blackboard for your discussions.

| Final Project You will create a public service announcement on a topic approved by your instructor. The project is divided into four parts, with assigned due dates and grades for each part. | 15% |
| Discussion Boards You will be asked to respond to a posted prompt as well as respond to your fellow students’ responses. | 10% |
| Quizzes Timed online quizzes consisting of multiple choice, fill ins and short written answers. | 15% |

Tracking Your Progress
The grades you receive on all assignments, quizzes, and discussions can be found in Brightspace’s Gradebook. As you complete work, you will se your updated course letter grade in the gradebook.
If you stop submitting work, I will email you to make sure you are ok. If you do not respond, you will receive a message from KCC’s early alert system, EAB Navigate and your advisor will attempt to reach out to you.
What if an Assignment is Late?
Late Work
Every assignment has a due date and I want to stress to you how important it is to try to meet them. I have been teaching online for a long time. Getting behind is the number one thing that makes students end up dropping or failing an online class. We need to communicate if you need a deadline changed. Please email me and we can go over how to best meet your needs as well as make sure you do not fall behind in your class work.
